Reverend Jerry Thordsen is a graduate of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, University of Northern Iowa and Davenport High School. He has served churches in Pennsylvania and Iowa. He is semi-retired. In his semi-retirement Jerry has served as a stated supply pastor, interim pastor and pulpit supply pastor for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

        Jerry also enjoys volunteering with the Waterloo Community Schools, Chaplaincy at Covenant Hospital, writing, woodworking, and acting. He has been in several musicals and plays at the Waterloo Community Playhouse and the Blackhawk Children’s Theater. Vicki retired in 2016 from the Presbytery of North Central Iowa after serving over 12 years there. She was an active member and officer in the Administrative Personnel Association. She has served in that capacity in Iowa and Pennsylvania in United Methodist, Presbyterian, American Baptist and the Christian Church (DOC).

        Vicki and Jerry along with another couple, established the Grand Camp program at the Disciple of Christ Christian Camp and Conference Center which continues to be a vital asset to bringing young children into a loving and nurturing relationship with the Lord.

They have three children, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren with one more on the way.
